Fire pits & BBQs

  • The use of disposable BBQs is not allowed
  • Campers wishing to use fire pits, barbecues and chimineas must sign a written agreement accepting responsibility for their fires and adhering to the following fire safety instructions:
    1. At no time should a fire be left unattended
    2. Confine fires to cleared areas, free of overhanging branches and with little or no grass or scrub
    3. Keep fires a safe distance away from all property, vehicles, tents and camping equipment
    4. Keep highly flammable items like gas cylinders and fuel cans far away from the fire area
    5. Never use flammable liquids to ignite or extinguish a fire
    6. Have a large bucket of water and a shovel ready and at hand before lighting a fire
    7. Thoroughly douse your campfire with water when done. Do not use sand or dirt, as they are not reliable extinguishing agents
